#20 - Nothing-to-Post! - Random: Obsessed
I have nothing to post for today, so let's have a random topic instead!

Today's random word: Obsessed. Picked by Wai Choong. He chose another topic for me to post about before that though:

(username blacked out to prevent identity theft)

So anyways, obsessed. Hmm, when I was around primary two or three or so, I was reallllllllllllllly obsessed with pokemon. Yeah, Pokemon. I'm sure everyone knows about those 151 animals that entered our life in our childhood. Ah. It was the craze at that time, children would have Pokemon: Yellow/Blue/Red in their gameboys and they would head to the playground to battle each other. Memories. For me, I would buy anything that's pokemonish. VCDS, Posters, figurines, cards(which i lost =[), dolls, anything I could get my hands on. There used to be originally only 151 pokemon, until the makers wanted to earn more money that they made a hundred thousand more. Curses.

Not long ago, I stumbled on this story as I was looking through the nets, "The Truth Behind Pokemon". Incredible stuff indeed, haha. Moving on, my obsession with the show stopped when I was primary 4, because my mother had kindly signed me up for tuition to occupy my saturday mornings and thus I gradually drifted away from the world of pokemon.

Ahh, I hope that's enough to fill today's post, anyways, Happy Birthday Muhammad!

Signing off,
used-to-be-pokemon-obsessed, Justin.

PS.I'll be updating some of my previous posts.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, 9/10
Perfect romantic hindi comedy. I can't believe I actually teared in this movie, not because it was in hindi, but because it was really good.

My summary does no justice to this movie. You have to watch it yourself to believe it. Trust me, it's really good. So good that i'm too afraid to recall this movie. (actually I'm just that lazy) Hmm, its just about this nerdy dude who changes his personality because of the girl he loved and wants to test her, which of him she really loves. If the movie doesn't make you hold back your tears, damn i'll kill myself.

Clockstoppers, 5/10
Seriously, i have to stop watching these movies.

Here we go, another stupid summary time. Boy finds watch, boy meets girl, starts playing around with this girl with the watch, agents find them, agents find agents, shoot-out, father and son relationship problem, stop time, start time, hyper time and then credits time. Really, do I have to review bad movies?

#17 - Adventureland
Adventureland, 7.5/10
Was good romantic comedy. Me likey.

Yay, short summary time. Boy needs money, goes to work at a fun-fair, falls in love with a girl, had fun, talk about life, talk about problems, smokes pot all through the movie, girl runs away, boy find girl, confronts her, loves her, makes love. The end.

#15 - Aliens in the Attic
Aliens in the Attic - 5/10
Yeah, what did you expect from this movie?

"I can't believe how sucky our movie is D:"

It's just a normal story of aliens-invade-earth-after-that-save-the-earth kind of story. So here's the stupid summary. Aliens in the attic, ahhh, pew pew pew, firecrackers and fireworks, slap here slap there, remote controller, gravity bomb, granny and boyfriend fight, more stupid family problems, aliens found what they were looking for, one alien grew into a giant, started to call for backup from the other aliens, then big giant alien fight, then the small alien was like,"retreat! retreat!" Then they retreated, then everyone was happy and then the end. Yeah, it was preeeeeeetty bad.

Aww, we can't say no to this cute alien right? WRONG.

#14 - The Hangover
The Hangover - 7.5/10, the movie's pretty good.

Summary time!

Starts off with these 4 friends who were going to vegas for a bachelor wedding before one of them gets married, so then they went up to the roof and clinked their glasses with some whisky and they said something along the lines of tonight will be the night we'll never forget.

So the scene cuts to after their party in vegas where the whole hotel room was thrashed with chickens and tigers and things everywhere. So they realised they forgot everything that happened on the previous night and they lost the groom of the wedding. They started to retrace their. So they realised one of them was in the hospital, one of them was married on the previous night, they stole a police car, kidnapped a yakuza boss, stole a tiger from the boxer mike tyson and many many other stuffs.

So overall, pretty good indeed. The mystery never stops coming.

#10 - District 9
What can I say? This is good.

Ah, District 9. Finally, a good movie.

Pointless movie summary time! So, umm there was this alien ship who landed on earth and it just floated above africa. So the humans was curious and stuff so they dug through the ship and found tonnes of aliens sitting around and they were like "Sup" and the humans was like "Sup" and the aliens was hungry. So the humans brought them to earth for a party, but a bad party, because there was crime and abuse. So many many years, the aliens just lived under their mothership in slums, where catfood was drugs and alien weapons were traded.

So then these people wanted to relocate the aliens to a better party, so the humans was like,"Sign these papers!" then the aliens were like "F**k off!" So the humans were like sad face :( and angry face >:( and killing face D:<. Then the human found some tube thing and then sprayed fuel all over him and then he grew an alien arm and he could control the alien weapons and the humans was chasing the human because they wanted to experiment on him.

So the alien was like that tube thing is the only fuel to power this small ship to fly back to the mothership so we can go home! And the human was like,"Oh Snap! I'm so stupid!" So they went to the place where they had the tube and there was pew pew pew, boom boom pow and explosions and gunfire. And they took the fuel and they blast off to air but they got blasted down by the humans and the alien dude was like "Balls." and the human was like "RAAAAH" and then went into some robot some epic battle scenes and then the alien powered the small ship again and then flew off to the mothership and the alien was like "3 YEARS!" and the human was like "Ok" So then the ship flew off and then the alien looks at the screen with a rose in his hand and then the movie ends.

Epic. 8/10. Woo.

#9 - I Love You, Beth Cooper
Yet again, I watched another movie at jurong point today. This time it was "I Love You, Beth Cooper".

The movie's fine, if you could understand the humour in the movie. The story's about a nerd (Dennis) who confesses his love for a girl (Beth Cooper) during his speech on his graduation ceremony. He offends some other students along the way through his speech. After the ceremony, Beth Cooper approaches Dennis and comments about how sweet he was to announce it in front of the whole school. He invites Beth to his home for a "party" which the conversation was then interrupted by her boyfriend.

So- hmm, wait a minute. I'm not going to type out the whole plot again, so let's just summarise all of this. Beth and her two girlfriends goes to the party which was shortly interrupted by her boyfriend and his gang who rips apart the kitchen and put a microwave in the wall and causes some pursuit around the city in Beth's car and then Beth went to buy some beer and she kissed the cashier because she was underage and Dennis was like, "You're not Beth Cooper" and Beth was like sad face :( so they went to this forest place and they talked and drank beer and then their friends stepped on a cow poo and a stampede happened so they started running and they threw away shoes and then rode a car and went for a bath in the school and then they went to a party and then they fought with the boyfriend and then the wall fell and it was Beth in a truck and they all went into the truck and then met a raccoon and they went to a cabin and Beth maybe falls in love with Dennis as they watched the sunrise and his best friend got lucky in the cabin and after that they arrived home and he said,"On our 10th Reunion if we are both single, i'll marry you" and she said,"Ok" and they lived happily ever after.

Give it a 6.5/10. The movie's okay.

After the movie we went for our lunch and then I decided to go back home instead of going to town (lazy me). So that's all for today, stay tuned.

#8 - Chalet Day 2: Morning of the Living Drunks

People were starting to get wobbly as they continued playing the drinking game. It's already in the morning, around 1AM. I tried a couple of the drinks and wow, I felt very relaxed for some reason, it was either the alcohol or the tiredness. After a few laughs and pukes from the other guys, everyone was tired. Some went to sleep upstairs, some slept downstairs and some slept outside. It was like a slum, you should've seen the pictures (haha). 5 people sleeping on one mattress, priceless. Overall, it was fun.

Everyone woke up around ten and we were discussing about what happened on the previous night. Everyone was ready to check out. We had our breakfast at 好口味 and headed home on the MRT. When I reached home I switched on the air-con, took another bath and slumped onto my bed. It was around 12:30pm then, I woke up and it was 7 in the evening.

Yup, that was all that happened (or that I can remember) throughout the 3 days. I'm going out yet again to watch a movie tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Signing off,

#7 - Chalet Day 1: Cycling, BBQ
Ah. Chalet. I woke up in the morning, crawling out from under the sheets. I didn't had much sleep the previous night. You know me, without much sleep i'll have no batteries to run my mind, so i'll just stone where ever I stand. So yeah, we arrived at the Costa Sands Resort but was too early to check in. 2 hours too early. So we decided to head for beach for some ice breakers. After some noisy minutes, this uncle started screaming at us something along the lines of "Noisy lah, go somewhere else lah. No brain." We all got pissed, but eventually went somewhere else.

After we could check in, we headed for some cycling. Cycled around pasir ris, across a playground which was so ever familiar to me as I used to have chalets around here (ah, memories). Across bridges, beaches and swamps. Fast forward to seven in the evening, the barbeque pit was ready, everyone was here and everyone was hungry. We ate, we talked, we laughed, we watched tv.

It was getting late and people were leaving. Finally, only those who were staying were left in the chalet. 8 of us went for a night walk at the swamps, it was dark as there were no lamp posts but was fine, nothing actually. After that we headed back to the chalet and took a bath. Some of the guys wanted to play a drinking game and they did. I and a few others went upstairs to play cards instead, but afterwards we went to watch them as they got drunk.

#6 - Movie Outing Pt 2.
I'm back from my chalet and I'm ready to post after a long sleep. So as promised, I'm gonna start on what happened on tuesday.

So I woke up in the morning to grab some breakfast (it was lunch when I got there) with weixiang at macdonalds. We then headed for my house first to play some games, before we went to Jurong Point to catch the movie "Where Got Ghost?" with Jingliang and Ziyuan. We actually wanted to play resident evil on the wii but for some reason my wii wasn't sensing our controllers so we just headed for the xbox360. I went through the games I haven't played yet and found out that there was this game "Army of Two" which I remembered from somewhere, it being a good game so I tried it.

It was a good co-op game indeed. We played from noon through the afternoon to six in the evening, the time just passes that fast. We then headed for Jurong Point to grab our dinner and then went to watch the movie.

Where got Ghost? Another local movie by Jack Neo.

Well as expected, it has got some local humor that i'm sure everyone at least understood. However, the plot wasn't really good. So in the movie, there's three different ghost stories.

The first story was about oranges, about this scammer who has two accomplices which gave him oranges to eat they took from the roadside. This action offended a spirit which led the scammer to death at the end of the story (as oranges rolled into scene). Moral of the story: Don't eat oranges. Eat apples, or something else.

The second story was about ghosts in the forest, about these two army soldiers who took a shortcut through the woods which brought them to a house which they eventually died in. There was this scene where there was a screamer as the soldier looked through the door knob, I laughed when I saw the whole row of movie-watchers as they jumped in their seats. The. Whole. Row.

The final story was about ghosts at home. This was the continuation of the movie, "Money Not Enough 2". Which was about the ghost of the mother who kept haunting her children in their dreams (with constant buggings of mickey mouse printed bras) to Mark Lee. What the mother tried to do by haunting her sons was actually to protect them from a landslide.

I'll give the movie a 6/10. I give some leniency for local movies.

That's the end of that day, which I then went back home after the movie to pack my bag for the following day.

#5 - Movie Outing
This morning I crawled out of bed to grab my breakfast with my secondary school friend, Weixiang, as we were going to catch a movie (Where got Ghost?) later in the evening. We played Army of Two. Hmm, i'm not going to post for tomorrow as i'll be staying overnight outside. And as of now, it's 12:11AM and I have many things to do right now (packing my bag, catching a game with my friends) So i'll update this post of what happened today and tomorrow on friday night. I promise.

Stay tuned,

#4 - Knowing
I got bored today and decided to watch the movie "Knowing". It sucked. What's with movies these days? At first I thought it would be a great disaster movie in the trailers but when I watched the movie, hell I changed my mind, it is a movie disaster. Here goes nothing:

Knowing.

The movie starts with a school which celebrates its opening by burying a time capsule (containing envelopes of children's drawings of what the future would be) in the ground which will be re-opened 50 years into the future. So after 50 years, it was dug up and the envelopes was given out to the children of the school. The main character (played by Nicholas Cage)'s son found a paper with numbers on it and was eventually passed on to the main character. (So far so good)

So for some reason (he probably had no-life or had some nerd disease) he started examining the numbers and realised that it is connected to the dates, locations and number of deaths of the global disasters that has been happening over the years.

He then tracked down the person (easily of course) who wrote the letter and found out that she died because she probably didn't want to act in this disastrous movie anymore. Fast forward, he found out that the last numbers of the letter was the apocalypse, that everyone was going to die (surprise, surprise). So then there was some running around in the movie and then I think this is where it started to suck.

A series of events happened but just to summarise the ending of this movie, alien stalkers from the heavens kidnapped his son and went back to heaven without him and he started crying like a little baby and then he fell asleep on the ground and then he woke up and then he went back to his family and did a group hug and the earth exploded and then there was this cut to a scene where his son and someone elses daughter fell from spaceships and then start running through a field of wheat to this tree and then the credits started rolling. What. The. Hell.

I give this movie a 4.5/10. Yeah.

I'm sorry for the movie reviews in the posts but really, without school, there isn't much happening. But for the week, i've got a chalet and some other outings, heck i'm watching another movie tomorrow so stay tuned~

TL;DR - Knowing. Boo.

Signing off,
knowing-it-sucked, Justin.

#3 - Reunion, Year One

Where I always look down when I daydream.

Today I went back to school for a class reunion for teacher's day. It felt so "normal" going back to school, as if I just went there days ago. Besides comments on my hair (i'm waiting for it to grow to cut it), everyone was still everyone. After meeting a few of the teachers and hanging out in our old classroom, they decided to go have lunch at Jurong Point with our former form teacher. So we did.

After lunch, we went to catch the movie, Year One. Pretty mediocre comedy movie actually.

So where shall I start.

The movie's so-so. Not too bad, not too good, just in the middle. The comedy's pretty okay if you understand it. It, it, it's just- meh. It depends on your sense of humour actually. Some humour may be right for you, some just doesn't work. It's just a normal comedy movie, I have nothing special to say about it.

Don't you hate it when you know what's going to happen next?

Story-wise, it's basically about these two primitive men (Jack Black and Michael Cera who acted in Superbad) who set off for an adventure and stumbled across this kingdom where they managed to free the slaves and lived happily ever after. IT'S JUST THAT NORMAL. Just that straight-forward, happy ending story.

"Everyone's laughing, should I join and laugh with them?"

If it helps, I found the bloopers in the credits funny. *shrug* I'll give it a 5/10, just in the middle. Worth a shot for you to watch it anyways, like I said it depends on your humour. I think the movie ruined my mood though, I feel very mood-less now.

TL;DR, Went back school for reunion. Movie. Meh.

Anyways, that's about it. Stay tuned.

#2 - Orphan
Well i guess there's nothing to blog about today so i'll post about the movie outing 3 days ago (thursday). So it was the last of our exam papers and we (Fangli, Valerie, Neecia, Luo Yun, Eve, Hazry, Remington, Jordan, KC, Me) initially wanted to go to the railway tracks just for a stroll and some pictures, but the heavens decided to cry on that day and we had a change of plans. And thus, we headed to vivocity to catch the movie, "Orphan"

Orphan.

This movie is the master of suspense for everything. I swear. Example is that they can make a scene of lambs frolicking in the field, a freaking horror movie. They like to build up the dramatic music and after that there's nothing there.

You'll be like "OH CRAP, OH CRAP. Something's behind the [insert object here]" and then they slap you in the face with a big pile of nothing (something if you count the background). If you invite a whole home of old folks people to the movie and when the movie ends, no one would exit because all of them died of heart attack.

"DAMN. I think I just had a heart attack from my own movie."

Overall, the story of the movie isn't bad at all. It's about these parents adopting a child who seemed nice at first and in the end turns out to be some crazy ps-(i'll not spoil your movie) who loves revenge and dads (ha-ha). Deserves a watch if you like cheap scares, cheap suspense and thrills.

6/10 (1 mark deducted from that kids-run-past-stairs-screaming scene).

TL;DR - Vivocity. Orphan. Suspense. Worth a watch.

So that's that for today's post. Stay tuned~

#1 - Return of the King
Haven't been blogging for months. It's time to start blogging again (hopefully I won't laze off again). Anyways, there'll be some changes here.

I'll try to be posting at least once a day now and even I have nothing to talk about, i'll talk about something.

To those people who's lazy to read in the case of a really long post, there'll be a TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read) at the end, followed with a short summary of the post for you lazy bums. If you noticed, there's a "Latest News" under the banner of the blog, it's specially made for stalkers who want to know whats up with me 24/7.

Here's a picture of a creepy monkey crying child to substitute today's post.

Stay tuned,
